Candlelight Vigil

As part of the Worldwide Candle Lighting Event, a vigil will be hosted on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 7p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Sweetwater County Library, 300 N. First East, Green River.  All family members and friends who have been touched by the loss of a child are invited, whether the loss was recent or in the past, and regardless of the age of the child.  Organizers ask that participants bring a picture or memento of the child.  A candle will be lit and each child will be named.  There will be music and a time for sharing.  At the conclusion, cookies and hot chocolate will be served.  The event is sponsored by the Compassionate Friends Network, a non-profit organization that supports families after the death of a child.
