What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
Bowl For Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ signature fundraiser. Each year half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as we change how children grow up! Bowl For Kids’ Sake is the perfect way for individuals to make an impact on our community- it only takes a little bit of effort to raise the money that is vital to our program’s success.
As a “thank you” for your support and enthusiasm, Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a celebratory party at Pla Mor Lanes, in Rock Springs.  No bowling expertise is required, only the willingness to share in our heartfelt and sincere thanks for helping us transform our community.
Where does the money go?
Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on donations to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
Your role in this effort to help children in Sweetwater County cannot be over stated: We need your help to raise community awareness of the challenges faced by local children and to ask for the financial support needed to help change the path of a child’s life for the better.
 
How can you get involved?
Step 1: Register your team! Each team consist of 5 bowlers, one of which is a designated team captain, you perhaps. Team members can be friends, family, or co-workers. Recruit people to join your team.  Choose one of 4 sessions for your team, 12:45pm, 3:00pm, 5:15pm, or 7:30pm (It is suggested that teams consisting of young children bowl during the first session.  Call 307-399-9262 to get started.
 
Step 2: Set a team fundraising goal- AIM HIGH! We suggest at least $250 or $50 per team bowler, but some of our top team’s raise as much as $2,500! Once you set your goal, choose team members who will help you exceed it!
 
Step 3: Motivate your team to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters
- Share information about the impact of Big Brothers Big Sisters on your community.  The staff can provide you will all you will need.
- Keep your team informed about incentive prizes, rules, games, contests, etc
- Communicate their successes along the way (Katie just got a $50 donation! Joel has already exceeded his person goal of $100! Our team just surpassed the $500 mark!).
 
Step 4: Have Fun! Join us at Pla Mor Lanes, 327 C Street, in Rock Springs to celebrate your team’s success! Each team will bowl 2 games.  Remember, it’s not about how good a bowler you are, it’s celebrating the impact the money your team collected will have on your community!
 
What else do you need to know?
Each year the Bowl for Kids Sake event has a fun theme to enhance the enjoyment.  This year the theme is “Sci-Fi”.  So get ready to enter the Twilight Zone!  There will be individual costume contests, team costume contests, as well as, raffles for “Sci-Fi” themed items.  Contests will also be held for the top individual and team fundraisers.  There will also be a silent auction, give-a-ways, and a grand prize!
