SUMMARY:All Breed Trail Series - by Mustang Versatility - September
DESCRIPTION:The 2011 Mustang Versatility Trail Ride Buckles Series\, co-sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) High Desert District and the Green River Chamber of Commerce\, held the third event of the four-part series last weekend in Rock Springs\, Wyo.\n\n\n\nThe August event boasted 21 total entries\, the highest level of participation the buckle series has seen this summer. The Horse of the Month award was deemed a tie between Lynn Huckaby and Rees\, a sorrel mustang\, and Huckaby's daughter\, Leah\, and her mustang\, Sagebrush.\n\n\n\n"Both duos were nominated for the notable control and responsiveness of the horses\," says co-organizer Deb Sundberg. \n\n\n\nThe Horse of the Month award acknowledges exceptional performance or special talents of the horse and rider. \n\n\n\nThe event also marked the addition of a halter class\, in which the participant leads their horse through obstacles and games. Organizers for the series are constantly looking for ways to make the events unique\, such as acknowledging coordination between horse and rider\, or awarding horse for a peculiar attribute. \n\n \n\nWinners for the August event were\, in the Mustang 12 and under 1st- Jacob Sundberg & Stormy\, 2nd- Leah Huckaby & Sagebrush\; Mustang 19 and over 1st Ron Sundberg & Dusty\, 2nd Lynn Huckaby & Rees\, 3rd Janet & Trixie.
